What's the parent-motto you live by?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. I have to remind myself of this many many times but I do strive to follow this advice.
Who's your favourite model parent? Why?
I can’t think of any one person who is a favourite but I respect all parents no matter what their parenting style or choices are. Parenting is tough and you have to do what works for your family. I admire any parent who makes it work for them.
Name your favourite kid-welcoming hangout?
I LOVE the Royal Ontario Museum. My girls love it too. It has a wonderful and huge children’s area. The restaurant is also great as it has healthy options for lunch.
Think back to your baby and diaper bag days, what was the one piece of gear that was always good to go?
My diaper bag was always fully stocked. That way, anytime I could grab a window to get out of the house, we could just go. It also helped as I did not have to worry that I was forgetting something while we were out!
If CSI poured over your diaper bag what profile would they build?
Girl Scout? Be prepared is my motto. I had everything you could ever need in my diaper bag. It took me awhile after my girls were older to feel okay not carrying around the diaper bag when we went out.
What is your biggest on-the-go pet peeve?
My biggest pet peeve was when my husband would use the last of something in the diaper bag and forget to tell me about it.
Whats your number one piece of advice for new parents?
My number one piece of advice for new parents is to find a support group of other moms and dad whom you can share stories with and ask for advice. There is nothing better than talking with other parents who are going through exactly what you are going through at the same time.
