For those quiet moments this summer (!) join our book club in reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton.
Here's some info I found out about the author and the book:
Kate Morton was born in Southern Australia, moving several times before settling in the Tamborine Mountains. She is currently completing her PhD researching contemporary fiction and lives in Brisbane Australia with her family. She was an avid reader as a child, escaping for hours to read classics by the likes of C.S Lewis and Enid Blyton. You can read more about her early life on her website
Kate Morton's books are published in 36 countries. Her first book, The House at Riverton, was a Sunday Times #1 bestseller in the UK in 2007 and a New York Times bestseller in 2008. The House at Riverton was nominated for Most Popular Book at the British Book Awards in 2008.
Her second book, our pick!, The Forgotten Garden, was a #1 bestseller in Australia and a Sunday Times #1 bestseller in the UK in 2008. It won General Fiction Book of the Year at the 2009 Australian Book Industry Awards and was an Amazon Best of the Month pick and a New York Times bestseller in 2009.
Our children's book will be Cats' Night Out by Caroline
Stutson, illustrated by J. Klassen
Ok I am having a hard time getting into this one. Anyone else?
