Getting out with your baby is hard enough in the glorious sunny days of summer, but add in snowsuits, hats, mitts, boots and scarves you might be tempted to just stay home. Once you have your wee one dressed for the elements you face the car seat battle. Never have wee ones fought so hard not to go in their car seat, as they do all dressed for winter, at least my kids do. On a good day my babes are not fans of being strapped in to anything, that is until we tried out Britax's new line of car seats and strollers now available in Canada.
I knew Britax car seats were among the safest car seats available but if I had known how much comfier my kids would be and how much easier it is to get them in and out I would probably have made a different choice in buying my first, second, and third car seats. The line up includes:
Chaperone: Infant Carrier : I love this infant carrier it lasted 2 months longer than my last infant carrier because it fits babies up until they are 32" long! My old car seat only went to 26", that's a big difference when you are talking about a baby that started at 21" long. The safe features on this car seat are also very impressive.
Marathon CS: This is the seat my kids actually fought over when it arrived and with good reason, it fits all of them! You can see each of them in it in the photo, from 2 months old to 6 years old. This car seat is perfect for babies starting at 5 lbs all the way to 65 lbs! I love how when Kate falls asleep in this seat her head doesn't fall down on her chest, and that she says it is her comfy seat.
Parkway SG: This one is for big kids, and one that you won't be fighting your big kid to sit in. My 6 year old loves this seat; he thinks it looks like a race car seat or fighter jet seat. He won't even let his little sister try it out but was more than happy to pass along his old booster seat to her. It is a good thing he likes this seat as he will be in it for quite a while longer, it goes up until 120lbs!
Blink: Anyone that knows me knows that I love light weight umbrella strollers, especially Maclaren strollers. I own three of them. So when Britax told me they had a new umbrella stroller coming out I warned them of my Maclaren fetish but told them I would put it to the test. I have to say it is a very worthy competitor, even more so now that my beloved Maclarens have an issue with the hinges requiring covers (click here for more information on the recall). The Blink is super cute, light as a feather, great wheels, comes with a travel bag and a shoulder strap which came in handy travelling to Vancouver with baby Ali!
I know that getting out on the go this winter will be much easier this with my wee ones, plus they will be safer and comfier thanks to Britax. Bring it on old man winter!

Love that it is one of the afest ones to have also.
Wow that would make long car rides so much better
I so need to check out the Marathon car seat. For kids to fight over a car seat you know its gotta be good and it looks so sharp and with decent features.Plus I love the fact it grows with the child!
