Yes Staples, it is the most wonderful time of the year, BACK TO SCHOOL!
I feel for all of you with little ones that will be putting on the backpack as big as they are (unless they have a LittleLife one of course) this fall and going to school for the first time. It is a big deal and each kids reacts in their own way. My son waved and was off, not a tear to be seen, in fact he looked at me like "okay mum, take off already, you're cramping my JK style". My daughter starts JK this year, and I'm pretty sure she is looking forward to the daily tea party and gossip with friends so not likely to be many tears there either.
Maybe it's because my kids are social butterflies and LOVE to be out hanging out with friends (gee I have no idea where they get that from) but it could also be that we spend the whole summer talking about how exciting school will be, all the friends they will get to see again and the new ones they will make, and of course also like their mummy they LOVE to shop. Back to school it is the perfect occasion to have some fun and get kids excited about school. My kids don't really need a lot of supplies for school, but they are definitely more excited when they get to pick out their backpack, new shoes and an outfit for the first day. Of course we also label everything with Mabel's Labels so we don't loose everything by day 2!
We also make a big deal about taking a picture of them on the first day, making this a fun and special day seems to help with the fears for both my kids and me! Check out the grin on Aidan on his first day of JK!

So cute! I can't imagine how I'll feel when my daughter starts school... sniff sniff!
I agree with labeling everything! As a school teacher there is nothing more frustrating then finding nameless water bottles, shoes and sweaters!! I feel for those poor parents that have to replace stuff all year long!
Yes labels make a teachers job so much easier and also less money for parents to spend on replacing missing items!! I just don't get how children can't recognize their belongings when you hold something up!?! It had to belong with someone...so much uncollected items end up going to charity.
Great picture. Not sure out the most wonderful time of year part though?? : )
Such a cute pic! Gosh I can't even fathom the day Liam goes off to school! And then 10 years later they're a teenager!! Agh!
