10 QUESTIONS:
Describe your career and life in a few words.
I can describe my career and life in one word. BUSY. It's a little crazy sometimes but I've chosen to embrace the path I'm on with the knowledge(and hope!) that things always work out as they should, and the realization that I am rarely bored - and that's a good thing!
Website/Twitter name/Facebook
Finish this sentence: Its 5 o'clock and I am ...
In a meeting counting down the minutes that I can get home to my family,or wrapping things up for the day and getting ready to pick them up from daycare. Working part-time for a film company as well as working for myself has meant an intricate scheduling process for my husband and I!
What's the parent-motto you live by?
Whatever works.
Who's your favourite model parent? Why?
Atticus Finch. I love that he didn't shelter his children from the injustices of the world, but was fiercely protective when he had to be. To Kill A Mockingbird had a profound effect on me when I read it as a teenager.
Name your favourite kid-welcoming hangout?
We love IKEA! Pre-kids, my husband and I would go for shopping/dinner dates, and now we bring the kids for shopping/lunch dates.
Think back to your baby and diaper bag days, what was the one piece of gear that was always good to go?
I'm still carrying a diaper bag, and it is always ALWAYS stocked with wipes. I am a wipes afficionado.
If CSI poured over your diaper bag what profile would they build?
They would question why a boy scout needed a diaper bag, because mine is truly prepared for anything. And I have the shoulder strain to prove it!
What is your biggest on-the-go pet peeve?
Eye rollers. When a baby is crying or a parent is struggling, when I see someone roll their eyes instead of offer to help, I feel a little crazy inside. Imagine if the world were truly like the comments on a flying with baby online news story? Now imagine if all those people whining and complaining actually made a small gesture to help, how much nicer the world would be - online and in real life.
Whats your number one piece of advice for new parents?
Find daytime friends. At first I was reluctant since I rarely had time for my long-time besties, but I realized finding other new moms going through the same things I was at the same time was comforting and reassuring. Plus, they didn't mind if I only ever talked about my baby, since they only wanted to talk about theirs. I felt a lot less boring ;)
