It is called the eco-wonder of the world - and it's true.
Bamboo is stronger than wood but it's really a species of grass. There are more than 1200 types of bamboo in the world. It is one of the fastest growing plants on earth (with a cycle of 3 to 5 years, compared to the typical 25 to 70 years for commercial tree species in North America). It needs no replantings, grows without fertilizer or pesticides and is biodegrable, even compostable so there's zero waste.
Bamboo is used for everything from mixing spoons and serving trays to games, socks, towels and fitted crib sheets.
Bamboo is ideal for baby bedding because not only is it luxuriously soft - almost cashmere-like - for baby's sensitive skin, but it's safe. The bamboo itself is grown without chemicals and the resulting fabric is free of chlorine and formaldehyde.
Bamboo is thermal regulating so stays 2 to 3 degrees cooler in hot temperatures and absorbs moisture 3 to 4 times better than cotton. The fabric is quick drying and wicks moisture from the skin - ideal for all those adorable baby drools. Plus it's naturally anti-microbial requiring no added harmful chemicals. It contains an agent, "bamboo kun", that prevents bacteria from cultivating on it and keeps it odour-free.
Bamboo sheets provide baby with a cooler, drier, softer, more comfortable sleep. And if baby sleeps well, so do you.
Isn't that incentive enough to go bamboo?
